How to come to the laboratory ?

LIMSI is located at approximately 25 km south of Paris, in the department of the Essonne (91). It is in Orsay, within the scientific Campus of the Faculty of Orsay, of the University Paris-Sud XI . This faculty is divided into a part "vallée", and a part "plateau" (known as "plateau du Moulon") where the LIMSI is located.

One will find in the proximity of the LIMSI, the Higher School of Electricity (Sup'Elec), the Higher School of Optics (Sup'Optique), the IUT of Orsay, the CEN of CEA (Nuclear Center for Atomic Energy Study), l'the Polytechnic School, the campus of the CNRS of Gif-sur-Yvette, the Institute of the High Scientific Studies of Bures-sur-Yvette. The LIMSI is composed of three buildings : 508 (main building), 502bis and 512.

By car Coming from Paris, two ways are available:
  • By the South Motorway (entrance at "Porte d'Orléans" or "Porte d'Italie", on the "périphérique", you follow direction "Chartres-Orléans", until the exit "Versailles". Then follow the "Saclay" direction, and "Orsay". Cross the "F118" road, and at the traffic circle, follow the "Faculté des Sciences" direction, then the red signs "508" (number of the LIMSI's building).
    • Starting from the "Pont de Sèvres" by the "F118" road, follow the direction "Chartres-Orléans". Take the exit "Centre Universitaire" (just after the exit "Saclay")and at the traffic circle, follow the direction "faculté des Sciences", then the red signs "508" (number of the LIMSI's building).

Subway One can also go to the LIMSI by the métro and RER (Réseau Express Régional RER B). Take the RER (in Paris: Gare du Nord, Chatelet, Cité, Luxembourg, Port-Royal, Denfert-Rochereau or Cité Universitaire stations). It takes about 40 minutes to come from the center of Paris. Choose the train which stops at:
"Orsay" station. A bus, ligne 06-07 name "Vallée-Petit Plateau", (distance map ) will take you to the LIMSI, near the "de Broglie " stop (every 20 minutes the bus is on the car park : bus timetable.

"Le Guichet" station (indicated by light signals on the platforms). A bus ligne 06-07 or 269.02 (bus timetable) will take you to the LIMSI, near the "de Broglie" stop (every 20 minutes the bus is on the car park, after the bar). You can go to LIMSI by walk, from Station Le Guichet, see the map.

From the airport
The laboratory is near Orly airport (15 mn by car). il is also possible to take the "VAL" until the Antony station where there is the RER B (about half an hour). From the Roissy airport (north of Paris), by car, take the "périphérique" and by the RER B, until "Le Guichet" station.
